Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, has announced key details about the Dubai Loop project. This innovative transportation initiative will be developed in partnership with Elon Musk’s The Boring Company. The announcement was made during Musk’s session at the World Governments Summit 2025.

Shortly after Musk’s presentation, Sheikh Hamdan shared additional information about the underground transportation system on Musk’s platform, X. He described the project as a transformative solution for transportation, noting that it is “set to revolutionise transportation.”

During the World Governments Summit, an important memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and The Boring Company. Sheikh Hamdan revealed that the project will span 17 kilometers and will feature 11 stations. This underground system is expected to have a capacity of transporting over 20,000 passengers per hour.

Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that the Dubai Loop project reflects the city’s commitment to advancing new and innovative mobility solutions. He highlighted that Dubai’s spirit of innovation thrives on strong partnerships with global industry leaders, stating that under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed, the city continues to redefine the future of transportation. This includes setting new benchmarks for sustainability, efficiency, and urban connectivity.
