The UAE Cabinet, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, approved the establishment of the Emirates Council for Logistics Integration during a meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Mohammed announced on Twitter that the council aims to improve coordination among all entities involved in logistics, including ports, roads, transportation, customs, and rail networks. He emphasized that the UAE’s logistics sector generated approximately AED 129 billion in 2023, with a goal to surpass AED 200 billion within the next seven years.
The Cabinet also reviewed the recently launched Etihad Rail Passenger High-Speed Train project, a major infrastructure initiative with trains reaching speeds of 350 km per hour. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted that this project is expected to contribute over AED 145 billion to the UAE’s GDP in the next 50 years, describing it as a “new national ambition” and a vital addition to the country’s modern infrastructure.
Innovation was another key topic at the meeting. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the UAE’s Government Innovation Month, noting the role of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation in sharing best practices globally. He stated that innovation is central to improving government efficiency, enhancing lives, and supporting businesses.
The Cabinet also approved the National Cybersecurity Strategy, with Sheikh Mohammed pointing out that the UAE ranks among the top globally in the Global Cybersecurity Index 2024. The country is committed to maintaining a secure and advanced digital infrastructure to protect its digital assets and ensure a flexible, secure environment.
