King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cleveland Clinic, a prominent non-profit academic medical center, to collaborate on various initiatives related to autism and neurosciences. This partnership underscores KFSHRC’s commitment to expanding its international collaborations to enhance medical excellence and patient care innovation.

The MOU was officially signed at KFSHRC’s headquarters in Riyadh by H.E. Dr. Majid Alfayyadh, the Chief Executive Officer of KFSHRC, and Dr. Tomislav Mihaljevic, the Chief Executive Officer and President of Cleveland Clinic. The agreement outlines the intention of both parties to establish a long-term framework for collaboration focusing on autism and neuroscience.
As part of this partnership, specialized project teams will be formed to collaboratively assess and prioritize potential opportunities for partnership. The goal is to strengthen KFSHRC’s capacity in providing specialized healthcare services. This initiative aligns with KFSHRC’s broader strategy to foster impactful global collaborations that emphasize knowledge exchange and capacity building, ultimately supporting advancements in research, education, and workforce development.
Moreover, this initiative is in line with the Health Sector Transformation Program, which is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. This program aims to ensure equitable access to high-quality healthcare while placing a significant focus on preventive care.
KFSHRC has recently been recognized for its excellence, ranking first in the Middle East and North Africa and 15th globally among the world’s top 250 Academic Medical Centres for the second consecutive year. It is also acknowledged as the most valuable healthcare brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East, according to the 2025 Brand Finance rankings. In the same year, KFSHRC was listed among the world’s best 250 hospitals and recognized in the World’s Best Smart Hospitals list for 2025 by Newsweek magazine.
