PureHealth and its subsidiary SEHA have announced a significant partnership with Cincinnati Children’s, the top children’s hospital in the United States, to enhance pediatric care in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. This collaboration is established through SEHA Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), aiming to bring world-class pediatric expertise to the region.

This partnership marks a major milestone in advancing clinical services, research, and medical training, reflecting a shared vision to position Abu Dhabi as a global leader in advanced pediatric medicine. Shaista Asif, the group CEO of PureHealth, emphasized that this collaboration places Abu Dhabi at the forefront of pediatric healthcare in the region, aiming to reduce reliance on overseas treatment while strengthening local expertise.
According to Economy Middle East, the collaboration will concentrate on embedding international best practices across key pediatric specialties, such as cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, oncology, and transplant medicine. By leveraging SEHA SKMC’s established clinical foundation along with the global expertise of Cincinnati Children’s, the partnership is expected to raise care standards and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
The announcement took place during Abu Dhabi Global Health Week 2025, attended by His Excellency Mansoor Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), and other prominent healthcare leaders. Al Mansoori remarked that Abu Dhabi is dedicated to providing specialized healthcare facilities that offer world-class services, enhancing the quality of life for community members. He noted that this collaboration underscores the importance of cooperative frameworks with major healthcare institutions worldwide.
The partnership aims to reshape care models, develop integrated patient pathways, and pilot innovative protocols that will have a long-lasting impact on the health system. The goal is to advance pediatric care through a globally aligned model that emphasizes comprehensive, patient-centered outcomes, firmly establishing Abu Dhabi as a leader in cutting-edge pediatrics in the Middle East.

This initiative is part of PureHealth and SEHA’s broader ambition to establish Abu Dhabi as a global reference point for healthcare excellence. The newly launched Pediatric Center of Excellence at SEHA SKMC is already playing a crucial role in providing advanced, specialized care to patients across the UAE and the Middle East, significantly reducing the need for overseas treatment.
