Al Hilal Healthcare Group, recognized as the largest private healthcare provider in Bahrain, has successfully acquired Middle East Hospital in Segaya. The facility has now been rebranded as Al Hilal Premier Hospital, marking a significant expansion in the group’s operations.

This state-of-the-art hospital becomes the 10th branch and the second hospital under the Al Hilal Healthcare Group in Bahrain. The acquisition was officially announced during a press conference held at the newly launched Al Hilal Premier Hospital, attended by key figures including managing directors Dr. P A Mohammed and Mr. Abdul Latheef, and chief executive Dr. Sharath Chandran, among others.
During the event, the group unveiled a new logo and released a teaser video. Al Hilal Healthcare Group stated that the acquisition reflects its ongoing commitment to improving the quality, accessibility, and variety of healthcare services available in the kingdom.
Dr. Mohammed expressed excitement about the acquisition, describing it as a pivotal move in enhancing operational capabilities. He emphasized that this investment aims to elevate the healthcare experience in the community by implementing the latest technologies and infrastructure, thus ensuring high-quality service and operational efficiency.
The 65-bedded Al Hilal Premier Hospital will offer a comprehensive range of specialized medical services, including cardiology, gastroenterology, urology, general medicine, bariatric surgery, pediatrics, ENT, obstetrics and gynecology, dentistry, orthopedics, internal medicine, neurology, and neurosurgery. The hospital’s team comprises highly qualified and experienced medical professionals dedicated to providing cutting-edge treatments and personalized care.
Mr. Latheef conveyed the group’s enthusiasm about integrating Al Hilal Premier Hospital into its network, aiming to provide state-of-the-art healthcare services and ensure that every patient receives exceptional care. He noted that the healthcare group manages around 7 000 patients daily and plans to open two additional facilities in Bahrain within the year.
Dr. Chandran acknowledged the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their support in enhancing the healthcare sector. He also thanked the health authorities, including the Supreme Council of Health, the Health Ministry, and the National Health Regulatory Authority.
The event concluded with a high tea, celebrating the launch of this new chapter in Bahrain’s healthcare landscape. A grand inauguration ceremony for Al Hilal Premier Hospital will be announced in the near future.
