Siemens Healthineers Completes Successful Innovation Capacity Building Program in Saudi Arabia

Siemens Healthineers has successfully concluded its Innovation Capacity Building Program in Saudi Arabia, which took place from February 5 to February 20, 2025. This program aimed to enhance local innovation expertise and foster collaborations with universities, hospitals, startups, and key stakeholders, including Monshaat, the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority.

A total of 40 participants from various professions, including doctors, engineers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and students, took part in the two-week initiative, which focused on identifying critical healthcare gaps and developing innovative solutions.

As reported by Zawya, Syed Ali Mehdi, Director and Head of Innovation and Scientific Partnership at Siemens Healthineers Regional Headquarters, expressed pride in the program’s achievements. He emphasized the company’s commitment to driving healthcare innovation in Saudi Arabia, stating that the program illustrates their dedication to fostering local value creation. Mehdi highlighted the goal of improving the future of healthcare in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.

The program concentrated on three main project workstreams: Disease Pathways, Healthcare Systems of the Future, and Medical Curriculum of the Future. Participants employed Innovation Methodologies to create data-driven, patient-centric solutions aimed at optimizing healthcare delivery and improving outcomes. The program concluded with an Outcome Exhibition on February 20, 2025, held at Monshaat Startup Hub in Riyadh, underscoring the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in the region.

Dr. Kholoud Alghamdi, Dean of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, reflected on the program’s uniqueness due to its diverse partnerships. She noted the significance of having multiple organizations collaborate with Siemens Healthineers and recognized Monshaat as a vital entity in supporting innovative ideas and helping them materialize.

At this edition of the program, Siemens Healthineers showcased its comprehensive solutions portfolio, including innovation and scientific partnerships, as well as education and capacity-building initiatives, reinforcing its role in advancing healthcare in the Kingdom.
