According to Arabian Business, official data indicates that the UAE now ranks among the top 10 countries globally across 21 health indicators. The Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that the UAE holds first place in the region and 20th place globally for healthcare quality.

These accomplishments are the result of strategic investments in the healthcare sector, with AED5.745 billion, which represents 8 percent of the federal budget, allocated for healthcare and community prevention services in the 2025 fiscal year. The UAE’s healthcare sector is expected to expand rapidly, with healthcare spending projected to reach approximately AED151 billion by 2029, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 6.7 percent.

According to the Ministry of Economy, healthcare expenditure is anticipated to reach $26 billion by 2028, with plans to invest AED118 billion in the sector by 2027. These investments are aimed at infrastructure development and enhancing public-private partnerships, which are crucial components of the UAE’s comprehensive national health strategy.

The UAE’s improved global healthcare rankings can also be attributed to its digital transformation initiatives and the growing medical tourism sector. These factors collectively contribute to the nation’s standing as a healthcare powerhouse on the international stage.
