Dubai Health Authority Signs Agreement to Establish UAE-India Friendship Hospital

In a significant move reflecting the strong bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and India, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has signed a memorandum of understanding to establish the UAE-India Friendship Hospital. This initiative aims to provide high-quality healthcare services at affordable costs to deserving communities and coincides with the official visit of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense, to India.

The new hospital is designed to offer an integrated model of comprehensive healthcare within a framework that adheres to the highest medical standards. The agreement was signed by Dr. Amer Sharif, the Executive Director of DHA, along with founding board members of the UAE-India Friendship Hospital.

Board representatives indicated that the signing of this memorandum is a pivotal step towards establishing a medical facility that embodies a humanitarian message and serves communities that have contributed to Dubai’s development journey. They noted that this aligns with the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, as well as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

They expressed gratitude for the continuous support from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed and acknowledged the crucial roles played by DHA, the Community Development Authority, the Indian Embassy in the UAE, the Indian Consulate General in Dubai, and the UAE-India Business Council (UIBC UC) in making this project a reality.

According to. Emarat Al Youm, Dr. Amer Sharif stated, “We are pleased to be part of this collaboration, which embodies shared values and reflects the leadership’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services.” He emphasized that this initiative aligns with the objectives of Dubai’s Social Agenda 33, which aims to develop a more efficient and high-quality healthcare system that meets global standards.

He further noted, “The memorandum of understanding to establish the UAE-India Friendship Hospital marks a pivotal moment in our journey, supporting our efforts to build an advanced healthcare system within our unwavering commitment to the principle of ‘patients first’ and enhancing patient experiences to ensure they receive the best medical services.”
