The SEHA Abu Dhabi Dialysis Centre was launched by the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, which serves as the official platform for social contributions in the Government of Abu Dhabi. The centre is designed to provide essential care to Abu Dhabi residents who are facing kidney failure, thereby improving access to treatment and overall health outcomes within the community. Ma’an emphasized that community contributions will be allocated to support this centre as part of its strategy to address critical social priorities in Abu Dhabi.

The Authority remarked that this initiative aligns with the UAE’s Year of Community and is part of its newly launched “From The Community to The Community” program.

Operated by SEHA’s expert healthcare teams, the centre offers free dialysis care to individuals with kidney failure, ensuring that necessary treatments are accessible to everyone in need. Significant funding has been provided by generous donors to establish the facility.

Abdullah Humaid Al Ameri, Director General of Ma’an, expressed gratitude towards contributors for their vital support in the establishment of the SEHA Abu Dhabi Dialysis Centre, which he described as crucial for the survival of renal patients. He highlighted the importance of community collaboration in achieving long-term social impact and reiterated the Authority’s commitment to enhancing access to essential healthcare.

Located on Zayed The First Street, the centre will initially serve 112 patients who require dialysis three times a week, with plans to expand capacity to accommodate an additional 56 patients and offer peritoneal dialysis in the future. The facility is staffed by SEHA Kidney Care professionals and features advanced hemodiafiltration machines that are integrated with electronic medical records for real-time monitoring and data analytics.

Community engagement has been fostered through initiatives such as collaborations with the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), which brought together artists like Ghaiath Al Rouba, Nadeem Ka, Charlie VillaGracia, and Christian Ray. Each artist dedicated 40 hours to create vibrant murals that enhance the healing atmosphere for patients.
