The RAK Biggest Weight Loss Challenge (RBWLC) is returning for its fifth year, allowing UAE residents to earn up to Dhs300 for each kilogram lost. This 12-week challenge will run from February 21 to May 22, making it not only a chance to get fit but also to potentially earn money while doing so.

Participants can engage in various activities, including gym workouts, hiking, or simply opting for the stairs instead of the elevator. This year, the challenge introduces a family category, encouraging parents, kids, and extended family members to join together and compete for prizes while promoting a healthier lifestyle.

The challenge consists of several categories. In the physical category, the top male and female participants can earn Dhs300, Dhs200, or Dhs100 for each kilogram lost, with official weigh-ins taking place at RAK Hospital. For those who prefer not to weigh in publicly, a virtual category is available, offering rewards like staycations, dining vouchers, gym memberships, and health packages. Additionally, families can register as teams, with the family achieving the highest average weight loss winning lifestyle vouchers, along with a special prize for couples. Workplaces and schools are also invited to participate in team-based challenges, competing for trophies based on their results.

Last year, over 18,000 participants signed up, and one individual successfully lost 30 kilograms, earning Dhs9,000 in the process. Registration for the challenge is free, and virtual weigh-ins can be conducted at local clinics. The RBWLC presents an exciting opportunity for residents to kick-start their fitness journey while potentially earning rewards.
