The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has introduced a simplified process for obtaining no-objection certificates (NOCs) for electricity and water as part of its initiative to streamline government procedures and enhance service delivery. This NOC is available for enrolled contractors and consultants who are looking to secure building permits.

DEWA offers the NOC through various online channels. For projects that necessitate a building permit from the Dubai Municipality, the NOC for construction-related electrical and water supply is included in the package of approvals, which also covers design approval and delivery costs. This process is completed within three working days following the submission of the application.

For projects located within free zones or under other licensing authorities—such as Trakhees, the Dubai Development Authority, and Dubai Integrated Economic Zones—the NOC for construction electrical supply is issued within two working days. Meanwhile, the NOC for construction water supply is processed within three working days after the application is submitted.

To apply for the NOC, applicants need to follow specific steps. They must submit their application online and attach the required documents. After submission, they will receive a notification confirming their application along with a reference number. In cases where applications are rejected, applicants will be notified to submit a new application with valid or additional information. If an application is returned with comments, applicants will also receive instructions for resubmission. Upon approval, applicants will receive a notification with a link to download the NOC.
