Sharjah Distributes AED 9.37 Million in Bonuses to Taxi Plate Owners

Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has started distributing annual bonuses to owners of old taxi number plates for the year 2024, with a total amount of AED 9 372 000.

This initiative follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. It aims to assist low-income citizens and improve their quality of life.

Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of SRTA, confirmed that 4 686 individuals who own old taxi plates operated by franchise companies under SRTA’s supervision are benefiting from this program.

Abdul Aziz Mohammed Al Jarwan, Director of Transport Affairs at SRTA, highlighted that the program reflects Sharjah’s commitment to social solidarity and the Ruler’s focus on enhancing the well-being of citizens. He emphasized that the disbursement process is conducted after ensuring that the beneficiaries meet the required conditions.

This initiative underscores Sharjah’s dedication to supporting its community and ensuring sustainable development for all citizens.
