Two senior officers from Pakistan’s National Police, Colonel Kamran Ali and Colonel Umar Farooq, have recognized Dubai Police as a leading example of modern policing. Their comments came during the Police Innovation and Leadership Diploma (PIL) program, which is organized by Dubai Police in collaboration with the Rochester Institute of Technology. They highlighted that Dubai Police is setting a global standard in law enforcement practices.

Colonel Kamran Ali emphasized that the motto “Smart.Secure.Together” goes beyond a mere slogan; it embodies a philosophy that integrates artificial intelligence, proactive security measures, and community engagement. He stated, “Dubai Police’s motto clearly reflects the features of modern policing,” underscoring how technology has been utilized not only to bolster security but also to foster a more inclusive and efficient police force that is well-connected with the public.
Both officers expressed their eagerness to participate in the diploma program, with Colonel Kamran Ali heading a unit of 2,500 officers. Colonel Umar Farooq noted that the program transcends academic learning, describing it as “an investment in the future of policing in Pakistan.” He also called on law enforcement leaders from around the world to engage in similar initiatives.
The technology-driven capabilities of Dubai Police significantly impressed the Pakistani officials. Colonel Kamran Ali remarked on how traditional policing structures have evolved, stating, “For decades, we worked within traditional operational structures. Dubai has shown us how AI, automation, and data integration can not only enhance security but serve as tools for community engagement. This is the model we need to follow.”
With a background in electrical engineering, Colonel Umar Farooq particularly valued the program’s technical aspects. He shared that the diploma provided a solid understanding of how emerging technologies like AI, blockchain, and machine learning can transform everyday policing operations. This knowledge inspired him to consider ways these technologies could improve their systems, from managing reports to predicting crime and addressing challenges effectively.
The officers commended the organization and content of the diploma, asserting that Dubai Police represents a pioneering model in modern law enforcement. They urged international security agencies to leverage Dubai’s experience in developing smarter and more humane policing systems.
