Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has introduced ‘Salama‘, an AI-powered digital platform aimed at providing a seamless experience for managing residency services. This new platform allows users to renew or cancel residency permits for their dependents and receive quick responses to general inquiries about visas and residency, all in just two minutes. With integrated payment options, individuals can complete their transactions directly on the platform, eliminating the need for traditional application forms or visits to service centers.

The launch of ‘Salama’ marks a big advancement towards achieving UAE Vision 2071 and furthering Dubai’s digital transformation strategy. According to GDRFA, the initiative demonstrates their commitment to delivering flexible and innovative services that enhance customer satisfaction and quality of life. The platform is designed to streamline procedures and improve efficiency, offering an all-encompassing experience for managing residency-related services. Verified users can log in using their existing credentials from GDRFA’s digital channels, ensuring a time-efficient and hassle-free process.
The introduction of ‘Salama’ occurred during GDRFA’s fourth annual media briefing, which focused on “Media Insights Shaping the Future.” Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, attended the event alongside senior officials, media representatives, and influencers. He emphasized that digital transformation goes beyond simply enhancing services; it redefines the entire customer experience while improving government efficiency.
Colonel Khalid bin Mediya Al Falasi, Assistant Director General for Digital Services Affairs, referred to the launch as a groundbreaking advancement in digital services. He noted that ‘Salama’ utilizes advanced AI algorithms to swiftly and accurately understand and respond to user needs. The platform’s LangGraph interactive architecture is designed to create a personalized experience, enhancing operational efficiency and providing proactive digital services that represent the future of smart government solutions.
During the launch event, GDRFA showcased a live demonstration where a user renewed his daughter’s residency in under two minutes. This quick process involved logging in, selecting the desired residency validity, completing the payment, and receiving an instant transaction receipt, thus setting a new benchmark for digital government services.
