The UAE continues to stand out as one of the most trusting countries in the world, according to the 2025 Edelman Trust Barometer. The report, which surveyed over 33,000 respondents across 28 countries, reveals that the UAE exhibits exceptionally high trust levels in both government and business sectors.

According to Zawya, trust in the UAE government is particularly notable, with an impressive 82% of respondents indicating they trust their government, significantly higher than the global average of 52%. Additionally, 76% of individuals in the UAE expressed confidence in the business sector, which is also higher than the global average of 62%. This sustained trust reflects the competence and ethical practices of the UAE’s institutions, which have been consistently recognized since the country was first included in the Edelman Trust Barometer in 2010.
The report highlights the link between trust and optimism, as 60% of UAE respondents believe that the next generation will be better off, compared to only 36% globally. This positive outlook is accompanied by high trust levels in professionals, with 85% of teachers and 79% of fellow citizens trusted by respondents. In contrast, the global landscape shows a widening trust crisis, driven by concerns about misinformation and economic disparities. Omar Qirem, Chief Executive Officer of Edelman Middle East, emphasized that the UAE’s consistent high trust levels present a stark contrast to the growing skepticism seen in many other parts of the world.
