The programme intends to elevate Dubai’s global media presence by nurturing leadership talent skilled in creating innovative narratives that effectively communicate the emirate’s achievements and ambitious development plans to an international audience.

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed underlined the emirate’s dedication to supporting the media sector by enhancing its capabilities and expanding its contributions to Dubai’s development journey. He also stressed the importance of collaborating with leading global institutions and academic organizations to harness their expertise in realizing Dubai’s vision for the media sector.
Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, reiterated the Council’s commitment to advancing Dubai’s media landscape through innovative initiatives. She noted that the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum continues to drive Dubai’s progress. Al Marri emphasized that His Highness’s focus on competitiveness is essential for elevating Dubai to new heights of excellence and ensuring that the media’s messaging is impactful and aligned with the emirate’s strategic priorities.
The first cohort of the Media Leadership Programme includes communication professionals from various Dubai government entities. This initiative is designed to enhance their leadership and strategic communication skills, preparing them to engage effectively with both Arab and international media. Ultimately, the programme aims to bolster Dubai’s global reputation and support the efforts of its government institutions.
Sessions in the programme will address key topics relevant to Dubai’s rapid growth as a future-focused city, reflecting its economic and social goals. The inaugural session will center on government communication, showcasing the latest global advancements and best practices. Participants will learn to lead government communication efforts with impact and precision, ensuring accurate dissemination of information about Dubai’s initiatives and achievements.
Nehal Badri, Secretary-General of the Dubai Media Council, shared that the first session of the Media Leadership Programme will include 24 participants representing 20 government and semi-government entities in Dubai. The programme will feature specialized sessions aimed at enhancing strategic thinking and leadership skills in government communication, incorporating lectures, practical training, and insights from global experts. It will also include international visits to learn from best practices in the field.
This nine-month inaugural session is specifically designed to refine the abilities of leadership teams in government communication. By showcasing Dubai’s successes across multiple sectors, the programme aims to consolidate the emirate’s status as a global hub for business, sustainability, and innovation. Participants will also receive certifications from prestigious global universities, enhancing the overall learning experience.
