In a move to protect its environmental reserves, Saudi Arabia’s Special Forces for Environmental Security have issued a warning to hikers and truffle hunters regarding compliance with environmental regulations. The authorities have stated that individuals found guilty of damaging or cutting fences around these designated environmental areas could face fines reaching up to 100,000 riyals.

These violators will not only incur significant fines but will also be responsible for covering the costs of necessary repairs and compensating for any environmental damage they cause. This measure aims to deter unlawful activities that could harm the country’s protected natural areas.

Additionally, the enforcement of these regulations includes penalties for those who enter these protected zones without the required license. Such unauthorized access will result in a fine of 5,000 riyals, reinforcing the need for compliance with environmental laws.
