The resolution, issued under Law No. (16) of 2005, grants the agency authority to enforce rules that protect air, water, soil, and natural resources. It focuses on ensuring corrective measures are taken for polluted sites, including wildlife reserves and other unexploited areas.

According to EAD, the resolution outlines steps for assessing pollution risks, requiring environmental studies as part of the licensing process for projects and facilities. It also introduces guidelines for creating rehabilitation plans to restore affected sites.

As reported by Al Bayan, Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of EAD, that the resolution is part of efforts to strengthen environmental legislation in Abu Dhabi. She emphasized its role in mitigating the negative impacts of industrial, tourism, and other activities while ensuring long-term environmental sustainability.

The agency will work closely with its strategic partners to implement these rules through a systematic approach, aiming to preserve Abu Dhabi’s environment for future generations.
