Two major agreements have been signed between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) and Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) to support scholarship students and strengthen the accreditation process for higher education institutions in Dubai.
The first agreement is focused on the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Scholarship Programme, which selects 100 top-performing Emirati graduates each year from schools across the country. The program helps these students pursue bachelor’s degrees in critical fields that are aligned with Dubai’s future growth plans. It also aims to enhance their academic achievements, leadership skills, and innovation abilities, preparing them to take on prominent roles in various sectors.
The second agreement is aimed at improving collaboration on licensing and accreditation for universities and colleges in Dubai. This move is part of the UAE’s broader mission to position itself as a global leader in higher education and attract prestigious international academic institutions.
Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasized the importance of working with local authorities to build a modern, knowledge-based society. Meanwhile, KHDA Director General Aisha Abdulla Miran highlighted the shared goal of advancing the UAE’s higher education system to make the country a hub for world-class universities and international students.
Both agreements also include plans for enhanced data-sharing and the implementation of high-quality standards in education and administration, fostering a culture of innovation and academic excellence in the UAE.
