In a big step towards government modernization, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, announced a partnership between the UAE Government and the Government of Fujairah to implement the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme and the Global Star Rating System for services. This initiative aims to create a more efficient, flexible, and proactive government service system that improves the quality of life in society.

During the announcement, the Crown Prince highlighted the vision of the Government of Fujairah, which operates under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah. He emphasized the importance of simplifying procedures and placing people at the center of governmental development. This initiative is designed to align with societal aspirations and enhance the competitiveness and leadership of the state.
The launch event was attended by Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, who witnessed the signing of an agreement. This agreement outlines the framework for collaboration between the UAE Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Government of Fujairah in applying both the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme and the Global Star Rating System for services.
Sheikh Eng. Mohammed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Director-General of Fujairah Digital Government, and Mohammed bin Taliah, Chief of Government Services of the United Arab Emirates Government, signed the agreement. Al Gergawi stated that adopting these programs represents a significant addition to the UAE Government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of its services and governmental performance.
The Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme was launched by the UAE Government in November 2023, aiming to streamline procedures and improve overall efficiency. In addition, the Global Star Rating System for Services, initially introduced in 2011, was upgraded in 2019 to incorporate new standards for government service delivery.
