Egypt is set to introduce four new free trade zones in 2026 as part of its strategy to enhance exports and stimulate investments. This announcement was made by an official who highlighted the government’s commitment to expanding economic opportunities.

Currently, Egypt boasts nearly 230 private free zones that benefit from significant customs and tax incentives. Hussam Heiba, the CEO of Egypt’s Financial Supervisory Authority, stated that these zones are aimed at tapping into key markets in Europe as well as the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Heiba mentioned that Egypt has nine public free zones, with four of them currently under construction. These new zones are expected to be operational by mid-2026, further supporting the country’s economic growth and trade initiatives.
