In 2024, the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) attracted 990 new companies, marking a 7.5% increase from the previous year. This brings the total number of companies operating in the free zone to 10 850, reflecting a strong investment confidence in JAFZA and robust demand for business expansion in Dubai and the UAE. The growth is attributed to the incentives provided by relevant authorities and the economic recovery seen in the UAE’s GDP.

According to a document reviewed by Gulf News, the number of companies that joined JAFZA in 2024 significantly surpassed the 880 companies that registered in 2023. This increase underscores the appealing business environment and the economic momentum that Dubai has been experiencing, which is supported by the favorable policies for businesses.
Occupancy rates in JAFZA also saw notable improvements. Office occupancy jumped from 79% in 2023 to 93% by the end of 2024. Additionally, labor accommodation occupancy rose to 84%, compared to 81% at the end of 2023. However, land occupancy rates decreased to 89% from 91%, and warehouse occupancy dropped to 91%, down from 93%. These statistics illustrate the dynamic nature of the market within JAFZA and the ongoing trends in space utilization.
