The partnership aims to support research, development, and the adoption of modern technologies in real estate. It also seeks to create an easier path for startups, small businesses, and innovative companies to thrive in Dubai’s Proptech sector. This collaboration aligns with the Dubai Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) Grant Initiative, introduced in September 2024 by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. The initiative focuses on key areas like Proptech, smart mobility, and advanced city infrastructure under its “Cognitive Cities” priority.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ, and Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director-General of DLD, at Dubai Silicon Oasis, a hub for innovation and technology. Dr. Al Zarooni stressed that this partnership reinforces Dubai’s role as a global hub for tech entrepreneurs and SMEs. He added that it aligns with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to double Dubai’s economy and place it among the top three global cities by 2033.

Bin Ghalita highlighted DLD’s commitment to integrating advanced technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain into real estate. He explained that the partnership would make it easier for companies to set up and expand in Dubai while supporting the Real Estate Evolution Space (REES) initiative. This effort is part of the broader Dubai Real Estate Strategy 2033, which focuses on fostering innovation with cutting-edge digital solutions.

The collaboration will involve joint programs to encourage startups and SMEs to adopt modern Proptech tools and AI-powered applications. Both DIEZ and DLD aim to build a strong ecosystem for real estate technology, further enhancing Dubai’s position as a leader in real estate innovation.
