Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) has partnered with the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) to enhance the performance of the emirate’s aviation sector. The two entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at improving safety, sustainability, and infrastructure in line with the UAE’s vision for a thriving aviation industry.
The agreement was signed by H.E. Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of DCAA, and H.E. Nasser Al Neyadi, CEO of PCFC, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations. The collaboration focuses on key areas such as managing drone operations and heliport landing fields, as well as improving system integration and data sharing between the two entities.
H.E. Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi emphasized the importance of the partnership in advancing Dubai’s aviation infrastructure and fostering innovation. He highlighted the role of advanced technologies like drones and stressed the commitment to global safety standards for heliports.
H.E. Nasser Al Neyadi called the MOU a significant step in enhancing operational capabilities and aligning with Dubai’s vision to be a global hub for aviation and logistics. He noted that this cooperation would help elevate service quality and support sustainable growth in the sector.
The agreement provides a regulatory framework for drone operations, outlining permissible zones and permit guidelines. It also sets procedures for certifying and inspecting heliport landing fields owned by PCFC to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Additionally, the MOU includes plans for technical collaboration to ensure secure and efficient electronic data integration. Both parties have committed to resolving technical challenges together and maintaining uninterrupted service delivery.
This partnership marks a crucial step in aligning government efforts to support Dubai’s position as a global leader in aviation and logistics while contributing to a sustainable future for the industry.
