As ARN News mentioned in their piece, during the council’s 29th meeting, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, members reviewed significant progress made over the past year. They emphasized how the free zones play a vital role in Dubai’s long-term strategy for sustainable growth by boosting competitiveness, embracing innovation, and enhancing their readiness for the future.

One of the key highlights was the adoption of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and big data analytics. These tools have been used to monitor business and economic trends in real-time, supporting the emirate’s economic goals.

The council also showcased efforts to attract more foreign direct investment (FDI) into Dubai’s free zones. Initiatives like economic accelerators and streamlined operations are making it easier for businesses to thrive in the region.

Among the notable achievements was the introduction of a new Human Resources Approval system developed with the Dubai Digital Authority. This system has reduced application processing times by 60%, significantly improving efficiency for businesses operating in the free zones.

Ongoing projects to enhance infrastructure were also discussed, particularly partnerships with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). These efforts aim to improve traffic safety and expand transportation networks in and around the free zones, ensuring smoother access for businesses and workers.

Looking ahead, the council reaffirmed its commitment to the Dubai Free Zones Model 2030. This framework focuses on modernizing operations, attracting new investments, and creating opportunities for Emirati talent through training programs to build a skilled workforce.

Additionally, the council reviewed compliance with international standards, such as the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) guidelines. These measures aim to uphold global best practices in governance and financial transparency, ensuring Dubai’s free zones remain competitive on the world stage.

With these advancements, Dubai’s free zones are positioned to continue driving the emirate’s economic growth and cementing its status as a global business hub.
