Ras Al-Khaimah Police have successfully seized AED 27.5 million (approximately $7.5 million) in counterfeit currency following a tip-off regarding its intended distribution. The operation, which was carried out in collaboration with the General Directorate of Criminal Security, led to the arrest of three individuals of Arab nationality. They are charged with possessing counterfeit foreign currency with the aim of promoting and circulating it.

A dedicated team from the criminal investigations department was established to probe the locations where the counterfeit notes were found. This investigation, aided by confidential sources, revealed more bogus banknotes. The police confirmed that the act of counterfeiting currency, in any form, is a serious crime that is punishable by law.
Ras Al-Khaimah Police emphasized that such criminal activities pose a threat to the national economy and undermine financial confidence in both domestic and international markets. They reiterated the importance of vigilance against counterfeit operations and the potential harm they can inflict on economic stability.
