Saudi Arabia is preparing for a significant presence at the BIO International Convention 2025, scheduled for June 16-19 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. The Kingdom will host a national pavilion, lead spotlight sessions, and convene a high-level super session featuring influential leaders in the biotech sector. This initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to developing an integrated biotech ecosystem and its eagerness to collaborate globally on innovation, research, and advanced therapies.

The Saudi pavilion aims to unite the entire health and life sciences ecosystem, including regulators, research organizations, regional clusters, and biotech startups. The Kingdom’s participation will include a series of engagements, such as ecosystem spotlight presentations and a flagship panel discussion, demonstrating how its health transformation strategy is fostering growth throughout the biotech value chain.
HE Fahad bin Abdulrahman AlJalajel, Minister of Health, stated that the representation from across the Saudi ecosystem at BIO 2025 highlights how the cross-government and cross-sector health transformation has established one of the world’s most promising environments for biotech.
Saudi Arabia is implementing a strategic plan to develop a connected and innovation-ready biotech platform that encompasses regulation, research, infrastructure, and investment. This strategy is aligned with the Saudi National Biotech Strategy, which aims to maximize the Kingdom’s potential in life sciences and integrate innovation into future healthcare delivery.
The Minister of Health emphasized that under Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia has become a hub for innovation and investment in global health. The Kingdom is fostering collaborative platforms where nations, government, industry, and academia can come together to accelerate progress in biotech.
Saudi Arabia is set to debut its first national pavilion at BIO International in Boston, which is rooted in Vision 2030. This initiative showcases a fully integrated life sciences ecosystem characterized by a future-ready lifestyle, world-class research institutions, streamlined regulations, and a digital infrastructure designed for speed, scale, and scientific impact.
The Kingdom provides an environment conducive to biotech innovation, featuring expedited clinical trial approvals and robust regulatory alignment through its ML4-designated Food and Drug Authority. The pavilion will also highlight nationwide digital platforms, such as nphies and the world’s largest Virtual Hospital.
The Saudi Biotech initiative encompasses key health and science entities, including the Ministry of Health, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, and the Saudi National Institute of Health. These organizations play essential roles in creating a regulatory environment that supports clinical innovation, along with institutions focused on translational research and intellectual property protection.
Funding and investment facilitators, including the Ministry of Investment and the Public Investment Fund, will also be present. Additionally, the initiatives of local organizations like Lifera and Lean will be showcased, along with efforts from the Royal Commission for Riyadh City and the Premium Residency Center to highlight the importance of talent and livability in the Kingdom’s strategy.
Finally, NEOM will represent Saudi Arabia’s most ambitious vision as a purpose-built frontier for biotech, precision medicine, and future health.
