The Kingdom of Bahrain is set to host the Middle East Oil, Gas and Petroleum Geosciences Show (MEOS GEO 2025) from September 16 to 18, 2025, at the Exhibition World Bahrain. This significant event is organized by Informa Markets, which is a global leader in exhibitions, and is supported by the Bahrain Ministry of Oil and Environment. The event is held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain. Additionally, it is partnered with notable organizations including the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE), and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).

Preparations for MEOS GEO 2025 are currently underway. On April 10, 2025, Informa Markets convened a Programme Selection Committee meeting to discuss the event’s agenda at the Exhibition World Bahrain. This meeting included prominent representatives from organizations such as the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and Saudi Aramco, among others. The committee aims to develop an optimal program for the conference and accompanying exhibition, with a focus on delivering interactive sessions.
Dr. Eng. Gaithan Al Muntasheri, the Technical Committee Chairman, addressed attendees at the meeting, expressing enthusiasm for delivering a comprehensive technical program that encompasses essential topics such as sustainability, strategic element mining, advanced materials, and innovations in artificial intelligence relevant to energy. He highlighted the collaboration with leading international journals for publication opportunities and announced the launch of the inaugural Technical Programme Awards to celebrate excellence in research and presentation. Dr. Al Muntasheri emphasized the importance of collaboration in tackling the evolving challenges and opportunities in the oil, gas, and petroleum geosciences sectors.
During the meeting, the committee finalized the conference sessions and speaker line-up, establishing clear criteria for proposals and key themes. Working groups were formed to finalize accepted abstracts and session formats, ensuring a rich program. The event is projected to attract over 17 000 participants, including industry leaders, experts, and professionals from around the globe. Attendees will engage in vital discussions surrounding energy transition strategies and the integration of new technologies within the oil, gas, and geosciences sectors, marking MEOS GEO 2025 as a landmark event for the industry in the Middle East and beyond.
