The UAE has officially opened its national pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Special Envoy of the UAE to Japan, as well as Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State.

The event also featured Shihab Al Faheem, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to Japan and Commissioner General of the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, along with various dignitaries and guests from the UAE, Japan, and around the world.
The design of the pavilion draws inspiration from the UAE’s date palm tree and creatively integrates traditional Emirati architecture, known as areesh, with Japanese woodworking expertise. A standout element of the pavilion is the impressive forest of 90 rachis columns that rise up to 16 meters. This project was realized by the Earth to Ether Design Collective, which is a collaboration of Emirati and Japanese creatives, highlighting a commitment to global cooperation.
Inside the pavilion, visitors can experience a multi-sensory journey celebrating the UAE’s achievements in space exploration, healthcare advancements, and sustainability initiatives through immersive multimedia exhibits, art installations, and thoughtful interior design.
Dr. Sultan Al Jaber emphasized the UAE’s commitment to translating ambition into progress. He noted that the nation is focused on expanding energy access, investing in clean technologies, and nurturing industrial transformation. He expressed eagerness to collaborate with partners in Japan and beyond to create a sustainable and inclusive future.
Noura Al Kaabi remarked on the significance of the UAE’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, stating that it continues the UAE’s long-standing engagement with the world through platforms that foster dialogue and collaboration. She noted the pavilion reflects both the heritage of the UAE and its aspirations for the future.
Shihab Al Faheem added that the pavilion serves as a platform for meaningful exchange and lasting partnerships, reinforcing the special relationship between the UAE and Japan, which has flourished over the past five decades.
Over the next six months, the UAE Pavilion plans to host a variety of events, including forums, workshops, and cultural programs centered around themes of sustainability, mobility, youth, and innovation. Visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy Emirati cuisine at the pavilion restaurant and explore a concept store featuring UAE-based creatives.
The UAE Pavilion is situated in the Empowering Lives Zone at Expo 2025 Osaka and is open to the public daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. until October 13, 2025.
