The meeting saw participation from Sheikh Majid Faisal Khalid Al Qasemi, First Vice Chairman of SCCI, and Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah. In 2024, Expo Centre Sharjah successfully organized and hosted 80 major exhibitions, reflecting a significant 60 percent increase compared to 2023, and attracting nearly 3 million visitors from both regional and international locations.

Key exhibitions reviewed included SteelFab, the Sharjah Real Estate Exhibition “ACRES”, and the Jewels of Emirates Show. The board emphasized the critical need to enhance the Centre’s infrastructure and improve its logistical and technological services. This focus aims to optimize operational efficiency and elevate the experience for both participants and visitors in alignment with global best practices.

Additionally, strategies to attract more global investors and leading companies for future exhibitions were explored. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais noted that improving the exhibitions and conferences sector aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. He highlighted that the exhibition industry is crucial for attracting industrial and commercial investments, boosting tourism, and enhancing economic connectivity.

Saif Mohammed Al Midfa reiterated Expo Sharjah’s commitment to being a leading hub for regional and international exhibitions and conferences. He pointed out that the Centre’s annual plans align with national economic diversification goals, aiming to strengthen strategic partnerships and encourage international participation.

The meeting also included preliminary results from the Ramadan Nights Exhibition, which demonstrated its positive impact on retail sales and domestic tourism as part of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival. Upcoming events on the agenda include the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show, Emirates Perfume and Oud Exhibition, and Gulf Coatings Show, alongside first-time exhibitions like the Evolve Future Mobility Show and Dairy Tech Middle East exhibition, both set to debut in Sharjah.
