Abu Dhabi has received warships from around the world at the ADNEC Marina in anticipation of the eighth edition of the Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2025, which is set to take place from February 17 to 21, 2025. This significant event is held alongside the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) and is organized by ADNEC Group in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and Tawazun Council, under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This year’s NAVDEX will showcase an impressive display of naval fleets from eight nations, including the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, the United Kingdom, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Hellenic Republic (Greece), the Republic of Korea (South Korea), and the Republic of India.
Commodore Rashed Ibrahim Rashed Al-Muhaisni, Chairman of the Maritime Committee of NAVDEX, expressed pride in Abu Dhabi’s role as a global focal point, attracting numerous high-profile figures and decision-makers to participate in both IDEX and NAVDEX. He noted that this edition will be the largest and most distinguished since NAVDEX’s inception, featuring the launch of several warships for the UAE Armed Forces and the participation of 21 vessels from allied and friendly nations.
In addition, he stated that newly manufactured ships will highlight the advanced technologies of the Emirati defense industry. Participants will have the chance to display various vessels of different sizes and demonstrate their capabilities in the dedicated marine platform at the NAVDEX live demonstration area, as well as at Mina Zayed, which will accommodate larger ships. This edition marks a significant leap in both international and local participation, showcasing cutting-edge defense and security technologies.
Saeed Al Mansoori, Defence Events Advisor at ADNEC Group, remarked that NAVDEX has evolved into a leading platform for displaying the latest innovations in naval defense and security. He emphasized that the expanded exhibition space, the notable increase in participating companies, and the presentation of advanced technologies by various nations reinforce Abu Dhabi’s status as a global hub for the defense industry.
The first batch of naval vessels has already arrived at the ADNEC Marina, featuring a diverse array of ships in size and purpose. Additionally, Mina Zayed has welcomed several other vessels participating in NAVDEX 2025, further enhancing the event’s global presence.
NAVDEX serves as a dedicated platform for the maritime defense and security sector, offering opportunities for strategic collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the showcasing of the latest maritime technologies. This edition will also include NAVDEX Talks, a series of lectures and panel discussions where experts will examine emerging trends, present real-world case studies, and highlight advancements in naval defense technology.
Exhibitors will have the unique opportunity to display their vessels in a dedicated waterborne exhibition area, with ships moored at a temporary marina equipped with floating docks. NAVDEX 2025 will feature a well-curated daily schedule of live demonstrations, many led by the exhibitors themselves, providing an engaging experience for visitors. Guests will have a prime view of the latest maritime technologies and capabilities in action from the grandstand overlooking the waterfront and adjacent to the exhibition area.
NAVDEX 2025 is set to bring together a distinguished assembly of global industry leaders, decision-makers, influencers, and maritime defense experts, all aimed at shaping the future of this vital sector.
