Saudi Arabia is preparing to host a vibrant cultural festival in Qatar, set to take place from February 18 to 21 in Doha. This event aims to provide both Qataris and expatriates with an insight into the kingdom’s rich heritage, further strengthening the already robust bilateral ties between the two nations.

The Saudi Ministry of Culture is organizing the festival, officially named Saudi Cultural Week. It will showcase a variety of cultural activities that reflect Saudi Arabia’s diverse traditions. Several government bodies will be involved in the festivities, including the Saudi Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, Theatre and Performing Arts Commission, Heritage Commission, Music Commission, Film Commission, Fashion Commission, and Culinary Arts Commission.
One of the festival’s main highlights will be the international debut of the Saudi Year of the Handicrafts Initiative. A special pavilion will be dedicated to handicrafts, featuring skilled artisans who will demonstrate their techniques and interact with visitors. Additionally, interactive screens will display various Saudi handicrafts, illustrating their unique characteristics.
The Culinary Arts Commission will host live cooking demonstrations, where Saudi chefs will prepare popular traditional dishes. Visitors can also enjoy authentic Saudi coffee hospitality at the Coffee Expert Tent, which will be complemented by premium dates. Furthermore, the Beverages Corner will offer a selection of traditional hot and cold Saudi drinks.
This cultural festival comes on the heels of Qatar’s participation as the Guest of Honour at the Riyadh International Book Fair last September, which is recognized as Saudi Arabia’s largest literary event.
