Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, has officially inaugurated the “Sana” Solar Power Plant. This facility is notable for being the first solar power plant of its kind in Sharjah.

The Sana Solar Power Plant is designed to generate enough electricity to power 13 780 homes. It is also expected to significantly contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 66 000 tonnes each year.

Sheikh Sultan emphasized the importance of this project by stating, “Today, we inaugurated ‘Sana’ Solar Power Plant, the first in Sharjah capable of powering 13 780 homes and reducing 66 000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.” He further highlighted that this achievement marks a qualitative shift in the region’s pursuit of clean energy, indicating a commitment to a more sustainable future.
