This engagement is part of the UAE’s continuous effort to enhance international cooperation, empower young people, and demonstrate its leadership in energy transition. These efforts align with Goal 7 of the Sustainable Development Goals, which aims to provide access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for everyone.

During the summit, the UAE delegation was a keynote speaker in a panel discussion titled “Technological Advancements for Low-Carbon Power Systems.” They discussed the nation’s advancements in developing smart and resilient energy systems utilizing low-carbon fuels, including clean hydrogen, solar energy, and sustainable aviation fuel.

The delegation also emphasized the UAE’s groundbreaking national policies and strategies, particularly the UAE Energy Strategy 2050 and the National Hydrogen Strategy 2050. These initiatives are central to the country’s approach to energy transition.

Moreover, the delegation highlighted the UAE’s commitment to implementing the results of the historic UAE Consensus, which was introduced during its presidency of COP28. This consensus calls for a fair and orderly transition away from fossil fuels, the expansion of renewable energy technologies, and achieving climate neutrality by 2050.

In their discussions, the delegation underscored the significance of investing in technology and innovation, developing national capacities, and empowering youth to spearhead the global shift toward low-emission energy systems.

Additionally, successful Emirati clean energy initiatives and research and development achievements were presented as inspirational examples for BRICS countries and the global community.
