Hotpack Global, a leading UAE-based company in sustainable packaging solutions, has completed the installation of a 2.2 MW rooftop solar power system at its manufacturing facility located in the National Industries Park (NIP) in Dubai. This project is among the largest rooftop solar installations within the NIP area, highlighting Hotpack’s commitment to sustainability and renewable energy initiatives.

The newly commissioned solar system is expected to generate around 3.52 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy each year. This substantial output will significantly decrease the company’s reliance on traditional power sources. Additionally, the project aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2,992 metric tonnes annually, which is equivalent to the environmental impact of planting over 142,476 trees each year.
By embracing solar energy, Hotpack Global is advancing its sustainability agenda, aligning its operations with the UAE’s clean energy transition goals. This move further establishes Hotpack as a leader in eco-friendly packaging manufacturing.
Abdul Jebbar PB, CEO and managing director of Hotpack Global, stated that sustainability is not merely a responsibility but a fundamental business strategy for the company. He emphasized that the completion of the solar project represents a significant milestone towards their vision of becoming a carbon-neutral packaging company. This initiative not only reduces their environmental footprint but also ensures long-term operational efficiency and cost savings.
He also noted that this project aligns with the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 strategy, expressing pride in contributing to the nation’s clean energy transition. This move reaffirms Hotpack’s commitment to sustainability and supports the UAE’s broader vision for a greener future.
Zainudeen PB, chief operating officer of Hotpack Global, remarked that as a market leader in food packaging solutions, the company continuously integrates sustainability into its operations. He highlighted that the solar project enhances their energy independence, enabling more efficient operations while lowering emissions. This investment in renewable energy reflects Hotpack’s dedication to responsible manufacturing and environmental stewardship.
Anvar PB, chief technology officer of Hotpack Global, mentioned that the adoption of solar energy at their NIP facility marks a significant technological advancement for the company. He underscored their commitment to combining innovation with sustainability, stating that this is just the beginning of their journey. Hotpack plans to continue exploring and investing in advanced energy-efficient solutions to further minimize their carbon footprint and promote green manufacturing practices.
Beyond this solar initiative, Hotpack Global has been actively integrating eco-friendly practices into its operations. The company has invested in advanced technologies and sustainable manufacturing processes to mitigate its environmental impact.
Their initiatives include a Circular Supply Chain that incorporates post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials into production, the introduction of Hotpack modified recycled PET (H-rPET) for creating lightweight and fully recyclable packaging, and the Eco Loop Recycling Initiative in collaboration with RECAPP by Veolia, which expands waste collection and recycling efforts across their facilities and partner locations.
These efforts support the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 strategy and reinforce Hotpack Global’s leadership in driving a sustainable future for the packaging industry. The company remains committed to integrating innovative and eco-friendly technologies into its operations while continuing to explore renewable energy and responsible manufacturing practices.
