Fabtech and Groupe M Forge Partnership to Enhance UAE’s Nuclear Energy Sector

Fabtech Engineering, a steel fabrication specialist located in Dubai Industrial City, has entered into a partnership with France’s Groupe M. This agreement aims to drive innovation and sustainable development within the UAE’s nuclear and sustainable energy sectors.

The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Nicolas Niemtchinow, the Ambassador of the French Republic to the UAE, and Anouar Mekkas, the Nuclear and Renewable Energy Adviser at the French Embassy in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial at TECOM Group PJSC, represented Dubai Industrial City during the event.

The agreement was officially signed by Fabtech’s Chairman, Dr. Harry Moraes, and Vice President of Business Development, Fabien Jeoffroy, alongside Groupe M’s Chairman, Julien Monteiro, and Deputy CEO, Pierre-Laurent Buch. Together, the companies will create comprehensive engineering, manufacturing, and on-site solutions to support the nuclear and sustainable energy sectors, aligning with the long-term objectives of the UAE Energy Strategy 2050.

Pierre-Laurent Buch expressed that this “landmark agreement opens doors to exciting new opportunities in the Middle East” and highlighted the strong ties between the UAE and France. He noted that Fabtech’s robust presence in Dubai Industrial City aligns well with Groupe M’s growth strategy, anticipating significant expansion particularly in the nuclear and new energy sectors.

Fabien Jeoffroy remarked that this partnership is a “pivotal moment in our growth strategy.” He emphasized the importance of Dubai Industrial City’s exceptional infrastructure, which is vital for the efficient transport of large-scale components. Jeoffroy underlined the focus on innovation, especially in the low-carbon nuclear energy sector, and the commitment to support environmentally responsible industrial growth.

As part of the collaboration, Fabtech plans to enhance its existing 2.1 million square foot facility at Dubai Industrial City, underpinning its dedication to sustainability and innovation. Saud Abu Alshawareb commented on the importance of nurturing homegrown knowledge for a vibrant industrial sector, stating that Dubai Industrial City is geared to support innovators and foster collaborations like that of Fabtech and Groupe M. This partnership contributes to several strategic initiatives, including Operation 300bn, Make it in the Emirates, UAE Energy Strategy 2050, and the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’, reinforcing the UAE’s leadership in the clean energy sector.
