Dubai Energy Council Evaluates Progress in Carbon Emission Reduction

The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy convened on Sunday under the leadership of Ahmed bin Saeed to review advancements in technologies aimed at reducing carbon emissions. This meeting was part of the UAE’s broader commitment to its Net Zero 2050 Strategy and the Dubai Carbon Abatement Strategy 2030.

During the session, the Council addressed the regulatory framework governing the performance of district cooling service providers in Dubai. The aim is to enhance network efficiency and support the Emirate’s sustainable urban expansion. Additionally, it was mandated that all government departments must implement Al Sa’fat, the Dubai Green Building System, in the design and construction of government buildings starting from 2026.

Ahmed bin Saeed emphasized the importance of these initiatives in aligning Dubai’s energy strategies with its sustainability goals, reflecting a proactive approach towards environmental responsibility.
