Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has made a significant advancement in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2026, climbing 110 places to reach a global position of 391. This achievement highlights ADU’s ongoing commitment to delivering competitive academic programs and innovative research, establishing its status as a leading institution in higher education.

Regionally, ADU now ranks fifth among 12 higher education institutions in the UAE, improving by two positions from the previous year. The latest results come after the introduction of enhanced data validation techniques by QS to improve data quality and the reliability of institutional reputation measures. ADU’s progress is reflected in key performance indicators, including improvements in employer reputation, academic reputation, and citations per faculty, which demonstrate its growing influence in research and graduate employability.
Professor Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University, expressed that the rise in the QS rankings signifies the momentum built through a clear strategic vision and focused academic investment. He stated, “This consistent rise in the QS World University Rankings reflects the steady momentum we have built over the years through a clear strategic vision and purposeful academic investment.” Professor Aouad emphasized the university’s dedication to excellence in teaching, impactful research, and international collaboration, which aligns with the UAE’s national agenda and its aim to nurture future leaders.
He also extended gratitude to the university’s students, faculty, researchers, and staff for their dedication, stating that their hard work has made this milestone possible. The QS World University Rankings continue to adapt their methodology to encompass a broader view of higher education impact, including aspects such as reputation, diversity, sustainability, and global engagement. ADU’s strong performance in these areas reflects its inclusive environment and commitment to societal advancement.
Established in 2003, Abu Dhabi University serves approximately 8 700 students from over 100 nationalities across its campuses in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Dubai. The university encompasses five colleges offering over 65 undergraduate and graduate programs in various disciplines, including arts, education, social sciences, business, engineering, health sciences, and law.
According to the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025, ADU ranks 191 globally and fourth in the UAE. It also ranks 172nd globally for research quality and holds the top position in the UAE for graduate employability. The university has received recognition in the THE Young University Rankings 2024 and the THE Asia University Rankings 2025, further establishing its reputation in higher education.
