I. M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University and the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi have entered into a partnership aimed at advancing biomedicine and clinical research. This collaboration was formalized through a memorandum signed at the Abu Dhabi Global Health Week, a significant international forum held in the UAE capital. The press service of Sechenov University provided details about this agreement.

The memorandum outlines several initiatives, including the development of joint scientific projects, the formation of research groups, and the exchange of knowledge and methodologies. The parties plan to focus on creating educational programs targeted at both students and medical specialists, with particular emphasis on research in pharmacogenetics, genomics, and innovative therapies.
Additionally, the partnership aims to promote scientific publications by Russian and Arab medical professionals. This includes contributions to specialized publications within BRICS, notably the newly launched The BRICS Health Journal. Petr Glybochko, the Rector of Sechenov University and an Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, emphasized that the memorandum is intended to harness the intellectual and resource potential of both parties to develop and implement educational programs for medical training and professional advancement. He also highlighted the importance of collaborating with UAE universities, recognized for their excellence in medical research and education.
Earlier agreements were established between the Russian university and UAE medical institutions, including the University of Sharjah and Al Ain University. Furthermore, in March, the Emirati side approved an English-language master’s program in “Management in Healthcare” at Sechenov University, which is set to commence in Dubai this September.
