Mubadala Investment Company to Acquire $600 Million Stake in Nord Anglia Education

Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Investment Company announced on Thursday that it will acquire a minority stake in UK private school operator Nord Anglia Education for $600 million. This investment is part of a global consortium led by the Swedish private equity firm EQT, which includes notable investors such as Neuberger Berman, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Corporación Financiera Alba, and Dubai Holding.

The demand for premium schooling and digital learning platforms has driven a growing appetite among global investors for education assets. Investors are particularly focusing on the education sector, which spans from early childhood to higher education. This sector is attracting sovereign funds, buyout firms, and pension investors who are betting on its resilience and potential for long-term growth.

Nord Anglia Education manages over 80 schools in 33 countries, providing education to more than 90 000 students aged between 2 and 18. With more than $300 billion in assets under management, Mubadala has diversified its investments into sectors such as healthcare, technology, and education, aligning its strategy with emerging global demand trends and increasing interest from Gulf funds in stable, non-cyclical sectors.
