Among the new offerings is the Bachelor of Science in Sport & Event Management. This degree program integrates key business principles with industry-specific subjects, allowing students to delve into areas such as sport and event marketing and foundational management concepts. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to specialize in areas like Football Management.

The launch of this program aligns with significant investments in the Middle East’s sports sector. The region is becoming a hub for major international events, highlighted by Saudi Arabia’s upcoming hosting of the FIFA World Cup in 2034. This surge in sports activities is driving a demand for professionals skilled in sports and event management. Projections indicate that the Middle East’s sports industry will grow at an annual rate of 8.7% by 2026, which is considerably higher than the global average of 3.3% for the same period.

Furthermore, the sports tourism market in the Middle East and Africa is expected to reach approximately USD 113.3 billion by 2030, reflecting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.5% from 2024 to 2030.

Professor Dr. Maurits van Rooijen, President of UE Dubai, emphasized the importance of the new programs, stating, “We are proud to expand our new academic offerings in a city at the forefront of global innovation and economic growth.” He noted that these programs are designed to equip students with the necessary expertise for dynamic industries, including sports and event management, software engineering, and international business.

In addition to the BSc in Sport & Event Management, UE Dubai is launching other programs aimed at high-demand fields. These include a Bachelor of Arts in Design & Management Studies, which merges creative design with strategic management, a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering focusing on the latest technological skills, and a Master of Science in International Business Management that provides insights into global business strategies.
