His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, celebrated the 25th anniversary of The Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed. The ceremony was attended by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and highlighted the significant advancements made by The Executive Office in supporting Dubai’s strategic vision for global leadership.

Sheikh Mohammed praised The Executive Office for establishing a model of leadership and innovation over the past 25 years. He noted the office’s crucial role in realizing his vision for Dubai as a global leader committed to excellence and future readiness. According to Dubai Media Office, he stated, “For 25 years, The Executive Office has inspired teamwork and effectively implemented our development vision. Today, we witness the results of the integrated government work ecosystem overseen by The Executive Office, culminating in Dubai’s prominent global standing.”
His Highness emphasized the importance of The Executive Office in driving Dubai’s strategic vision forward. He mentioned that the achievements of the last 25 years motivate further transformation and progress. During the event, he recognized the contributions of The Executive Office team in facilitating government decision-making and enhancing development across various sectors, encouraging them to intensify their efforts for future growth.
Sheikh Mohammed also toured an exhibition showcasing The Executive Office’s strategic projects and initiatives, which have significantly contributed to Dubai’s modernization. He viewed a video that illustrated the office’s accomplishments since its establishment.
His Excellency Mohammad Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of The Executive Office, indicated that the office has served as a foundation for envisioning and shaping Dubai’s future for the past 25 years. He remarked that The Executive Office is not a typical government entity but rather a laboratory for bold ideas and unconventional solutions, propelling Dubai to unprecedented global prominence.
Al Gergawi further noted that over the past 25 years, the office has transformed leadership directives into actionable innovations at the heart of government operations. This has resulted in major projects and initiatives that have advanced social and economic progress in Dubai. He reiterated that today’s celebration underscores their commitment to pioneering new governmental approaches to ensure Dubai remains agile and adaptable.

Functioning as a specialized think tank, The Executive Office advises relevant entities to facilitate informed decision-making. It also oversees the implementation of plans and projects initiated by Sheikh Mohammed to guarantee their success. Regular reports are provided to track progress on key initiatives and decisions, ensuring that Dubai’s performance across various sectors is continuously monitored.
Over the last 25 years, The Executive Office has become a hub for creative and strategic thinking, yielding innovative solutions that significantly contribute to Dubai’s development. Notable projects include the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), established in 2004, which has positioned Dubai as a leading international financial hub. In 2024, DIFC reported a 25 percent increase in active companies, with 6 920 firms registered and a workforce exceeding 46 000 employees.
The Dubai Council, launched by The Executive Office in 2020, has initiated 25 transformative projects to boost Dubai’s global standing. Additionally, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), launched in 2015, encompasses 30 initiatives aimed at combating poverty and empowering communities, impacting 149 million people across 118 countries in 2024 with an investment of AED2.2 billion.
Key initiatives such as Smart Dubai and the Dubai Future Foundation have also been instrumental in enhancing Dubai’s global competitiveness. Smart Dubai has positioned the city as a leader in digital transformation, while the Dubai Future Foundation has contributed significantly to Dubai’s GDP through investments.
