UAE’s NHRI and European Parliament Delegation Discuss Human Rights Collaboration

The UAE’s National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) hosted a high-level delegation from the European Parliament at its Abu Dhabi headquarters, focusing on advancing joint efforts in human rights.

Maqsoud Kruse, Chairperson of the NHRI, and Dr. Saeed Al Ghfeli, its Secretary-General, welcomed the delegation. They shared updates on the institution’s progress and its plans to deepen partnerships with global human rights organizations.

David McAllister, Chair of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs, led the visiting group, accompanied by Lucía Berger, EU Ambassador to the UAE, and other senior officials from European countries.

Kruse highlighted the significance of the visit, noting it was the third by the European Parliament and the second in 2025. He emphasized the delegation’s interest in the NHRI’s initiatives and its commitment to international cooperation in human rights.

This meeting reflects the growing collaboration between the NHRI and international bodies to promote and protect human rights.
