Dubai is set to implement new parking fees from April 4, 2025, as Parkin, the city’s official parking operator, announces significant changes to its tariff structure. The adjustment includes a price increase for premium parking spaces, which are conveniently located near public transport hubs, business districts, and popular shopping areas. Premium parking will now cost Dhs6 per hour, while regular parking spaces will remain at Dh4 per hour.

Parkin has established premium parking zones based on three key criteria: their proximity to metro stations (within 500 meters), high occupancy rates during peak times, and density in commercial areas. These changes were first discussed in November alongside modifications to the Salik toll gate pricing, and while the new rates were initially expected to take effect in March, they will now commence in early April. A comprehensive announcement regarding these updates was made in late March.
The peak parking hours have been defined by Parkin, which will apply to six out of the 14 chargeable hours each day. These hours are from 8 AM to 10 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM, excluding Sundays and public holidays, during which peak pricing will not be enforced. The off-peak hours, between 10 AM and 4 PM and 8 PM to 10 PM, will see no changes in tariffs.
Public parking in Dubai is categorized into four zones: A, B, C, and D. In Zone A, standard on-street parking will cost Dhs2 for half an hour and Dhs4 for an hour. For two hours, the rate will be Dhs8, and for three hours, Dhs12, with four hours priced at Dhs16. Premium parking in Zone A will be charged Dhs6 during peak hours and Dhs4 during off-peak hours for one hour, with prices doubling for two hours for both peak and off-peak times.
In Zone B, standard off-street parking tariffs vary between peak and off-peak hours. For one hour, peak parking costs Dhs4, and off-peak is Dhs3. Premium parking will cost Dhs6 during peak hours and Dhs3 during off-peak hours. For two hours, the rates increase to Dhs8 at peak times and Dhs6 at off-peak times for standard parking, while premium rates rise to Dhs12 and Dhs6, respectively.
Zone C follows a similar structure, with peak prices for one hour set at Dhs6 for premium parking and Dhs4 for standard parking, while off-peak rates remain at Dhs2. For two hours, premium parking costs Dhs12, and standard parking costs Dhs8 at peak times. Off-peak fees for both categories are set at Dhs5.
In Zone D, a day rate applies to both standard and premium parking. Off-peak fees will be uniform, with charges of Dhs2 for one hour, Dhs4 for two hours, Dhs5 for three hours, and Dhs7 for four hours. During peak times, standard parking will cost Dhs4 for an hour and Dhs8 for two hours, while premium parking will be priced at Dhs6 and Dhs12, respectively.
Parkin manages six multi-storey car parks in Dubai, which offer a total of 3 200 parking spaces. The tariffs for these facilities will remain unchanged at Dhs5 per hour, applicable 24 hours a day. For those parking over eight hours within a 24-hour period, a maximum fee of Dhs40 will be applied.
Additionally, a new congestion pricing policy will be introduced for major events at the Dubai World Trade Centre starting February 2025. Public parking in high-traffic areas near the center will incur a charge of Dhs25 per hour during exhibitions, festivals, and conferences to manage increased demand. This policy will be active from 8 AM to 10 PM, with five specific events highlighted for 2025, including GITEX and Beautyworld Middle East.
