During the meeting, which included Abdullah Nasser Al Suwaidi, Chairman of FANR, and other leaders from the authority, both sides discussed various avenues for strengthening collaboration. The discussions focused on exchanging expertise, research and development, capacity building in nuclear safety and security, non-proliferation, and regulatory frameworks for advanced nuclear technology.

This visit follows the signing of a three-year action plan in November 2024 between FANR and China’s National Nuclear Safety Administration. The action plan outlines a framework for cooperation in nuclear regulatory matters. In 2018, both entities had previously signed a memorandum of understanding emphasizing nuclear safety, non-proliferation, and capacity building, among other aspects.
