The UAE has been ranked 21st in the 2025 World Happiness Report, making it the top country in the Arab region and surpassing nations such as the UK, US, and France. This ranking was released on March 21, 2025, by the Emirates News Agency, highlighting the UAE’s continued strides in enhancing the quality of life for its residents.

The World Happiness Report, compiled annually by Gallup, evaluates the life satisfaction of citizens across 147 nations based on data collected from 2022 to 2024. Finland has maintained its position at the top for the eighth consecutive year. Meanwhile, countries like Mexico and Costa Rica have entered the top ten, with the US coming in at 24th place.
In the Arab world, Kuwait follows the UAE, securing the 30th spot globally, while Saudi Arabia ranks 32nd. Other Arab nations include Oman at 52nd, Bahrain at 59th, Libya at 79th, Algeria at 84th, Iraq at 101st, and the Palestinian Territories at 108th. The report evaluates happiness levels based on several key indicators, such as GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, perceptions of corruption, and generosity.
