Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched the ‘Takamul Permit,’ a new initiative aimed at simplifying the process of hiring chauffeur-driven luxury vehicles.

According to Jamal Al Sadah, Director of Commercial Transport Activities at RTA’s Licensing Agency, this permit is designed to integrate limousine services with the car rental sector in Dubai. It allows individuals, tourists, and residents to hire luxury cars with drivers for up to one month, subject to specific rules and conditions.

RTA has also developed a flexible regulatory framework to enhance relationships between rental companies and customers. This includes updated guidelines covering all car rental activities. Companies must meet the terms for operating light vehicles and deluxe passenger transport, including registering contracts and enrolling drivers in the Transport Activities Rental System (TARS).

To use this service, car rental and luxury transport companies must share a member listed on their commercial licenses. Customers can easily apply for the Takamul Permit through RTA’s website by logging in and completing the application process.

The new permit reflects RTA’s efforts to support the commercial transport sector while fostering mutual benefits for businesses and users alike.
