Abu Dhabi Opens 33 New Parks to Enhance Community Well-Being

The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has officially inaugurated 33 new parks in Mohamed bin Zayed City, aiming to enhance the quality of life for residents. These parks are designed to promote healthier lifestyles and foster social cohesion, aligning with DMT’s strategy to improve community well-being across the emirate.

The newly established green spaces are tailored to meet the needs and preferences of local communities. They feature a variety of amenities including picnic areas, shaded seating, children’s play zones, fitness areas, jogging tracks, and multiple sports courts for paddle, basketball, volleyball, and badminton. Additionally, the parks include Multi-Use Game Areas (MUGA) and are designed to be accessible for People of Determination, ensuring inclusivity for all.

Hamada Al Hashemi, Director of the Urban Design Division at DMT, expressed pride in opening these public hubs. He noted that they encourage active, healthy living and serve as communal spaces for fitness, leisure, and social connection throughout Mohamed Bin Zayed City and Abu Dhabi. Al Hashemi emphasized that these projects guarantee access to quality recreational facilities for everyone, regardless of age or ability.

The opening of these parks is a reflection of DMT’s ongoing commitment to creating dynamic and inclusive spaces that promote health, recreation, community engagement, and connection throughout the emirate.
