The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will collaborate with Ukraine to create the first food hub on the African continent, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This announcement was made during an online press conference held in Abu Dhabi with Ukrainian journalists, as reported by Ukrinform

During the event, Zelensky told that both nations have long desired to launch this initiative and have now found a partner in the UAE. According to Ukrinform, he stated, “We also agreed that we would work in partnership on a project that we had wanted to launch for a long time but hadn’t had the time or opportunity to do so. These are food hubs on the African continent.”
Zelensky further elaborated on the project during discussions with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which included talks about establishing a food hub in Egypt and potential agricultural programs to be implemented within Ukraine. He expressed Ukraine’s readiness to build food hubs across Africa, highlighting that these facilities would aim to improve access to Ukrainian grain and enhance global food security in vulnerable regions.
