Fatema Al Nuaimi, the Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Gas, emphasized the importance of this partnership. She stated that the collaboration is rooted in a long-term agreement that supports the rise of digitization, resilient connectivity, and the growing adoption of technology across the UAE’s economy. Al Nuaimi noted that by leveraging Abu Dhabi’s extensive gas reserves, the partnership aims to ensure the UAE’s self-sufficiency while providing fuel for over two-thirds of the nation’s industries, which in turn drives sustainable economic growth and diversification.

Othman Al Ali, the Chief Executive Officer of EWEC, remarked that this agreement guarantees a stable and flexible supply of natural gas, crucial for the UAE’s energy transition. He highlighted the role of natural gas in bridging the gap between traditional and sustainable energy sources, especially as the UAE accelerates the integration of renewable and clean energy technologies. Al Ali pointed out that this partnership enhances EWEC’s capacity to deliver a secure, efficient, and decarbonized water and electricity system, contributing to the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative.

Furthermore, Al Ali noted that EWEC continues to implement transformative renewable and clean energy innovations to decarbonize the water and electricity supply in the UAE. He explained that gas-fired plants provide essential transitional capacity, facilitating the integration of large-scale renewable and clean energy sources. The flexible natural gas supply will be distributed to plants throughout Abu Dhabi and the UAE, reinforcing the commitment of both ADNOC Gas and EWEC to promote sustainable economic growth in the region.

This partnership also underscores ADNOC Gas’s dedication to supporting its customers in their transition to cleaner energy solutions. By providing reliable, secure, flexible, and affordable lower carbon energy, ADNOC Gas aims to make a tangible impact on its customers’ carbon footprints while delivering substantial long-term value for its shareholders.
